ABOUT ME

Ever since I took a personal finance class my senior year in high school, I have been passionate about the subject. So passionate that I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in personal financial planning. I have literally surrounded my life with the topic.

During the day, I work as an Accredited Financial Counselor® for the federal government where I assist and serve over 40,000 military and civilian employees. Day in and day out, I talk to individuals and families about their finances. Discussing their financial struggles and helping them achieve moments of jubilation only strengthens my passion of helping people.

You might think that since I have centered my career around personal finance, I would have amazing financial skills. Well, my wife Amanda and I are human. We, just like most Americans, struggled with debt. We had credit cards, student loans, car payments, family loans and more. However, we were able to buckle down and eliminate most of these debts from our life. Actually, we paid off more than $50,000 in debt in less than two years. 

I’m telling you my personal story to hammer home the point that we have all been there. You are not alone. Everyone makes financial mistakes. You just need to learn from them and create a plan to achieve your financial dreams. You can do it!

Building a Community

I want this community to be about empowerment and acceptance. I want you to feel comfortable sharing your struggles or triumphs with other readers. There is no name calling or judging on this site (so don’t even try it in the blog comments section). All I want is for you to reach financial freedom, whatever that may be.
